Oktoberfeststeins - Mugs and beer glasses Also this year you can look forward to great, new collector jugs from the Munich Oktoberfest. Here we will introduce you to the popular Bavarian collector steins. In addition to a new "Official Oktoberfeststein" (produced by the city of Munich) there is also a new "Landlord's Pitcher" this year. The collection is complemented by some other mugs, jugs and glasses. All official souvenirs decorated with the new poster...
The official Munich Octoberfest SteinThe official "Oktoberfest Collector Stein" is every year a 1-liter pitcher (so-called "masskrug") made of stone (stoneware). Since 1978, the mug has been issued by the city of Munich (the official organizer of the beerfestival). The jug is available with or without (engraved) tin lid. For more information click on the respective picture...
Stein design The decor of the new steins is the current Oktoberfest-Poster. Here you'll find a design with a ensemble from various symbols (such as a gingerbread heart, pretzel, chicken and a traditional hat) is depicted on the light blue poster. New tin lid Also the engraving on the tin lid changes every year. So this year there is a new design. This year, there is a motif from the series "Munich Originals". The former Oktoberfesthost "Georg Lang" built the first XL-Beertent on the Theresienwiese.
The Festival mug of the LandlordsSince 2002 there is also a "Landlord's Pitcher Collection" in the shop. The mug (from our team named "Wirtekrug") has a capacity of 1 liter and is a typical bavarian stein (mug made of stoneware) with a so-called "salt glaze". For more information click on the picture...
Motif This year "Lola Montez" (1821-1861) was depicted on the pitcher. The Irish dancer had a (wild) affair with the Bavarian "King Ludwig I" in the 19th century. This affair caused great excitement in Munich. In the end of the story the king had to resign. New motif on the tin lid The pitcher is also available with a nice tin lid. Even here a new motif is engraved on the lid each year. This year there are the "Schäffler" (guild of the barrel makers) on the cover. This year they celebrate the 500th anniversary of the so-called "Schäfflertanz" (traditional dance of the barrel makers).
Other official Beer pitchersIn addition to the two steins above, there are also some other beer jugs in the official "Oktoberfest Edition". Here you can find both - pitchers made of "stoneware" and "beer glasses" (mugs of glass). All items are decorated with the current poster. So you can recognize the official Festival-Souvenirs.Pichers Octoberfest In addition to the 1.0 liter mug, there is also a pitcher with a capacity of 0.5 liters (a half-litre mug, in Bavaria called "Halbe"). In the collection there are even smaller items with a quarter liter (0.25 liters) and a miniversion with 4cl. This mini-small glass is used in Bavaria as a "shot glass" (calles Stamperl). The sweet XS mug looks like a "shrunken version" of the big collector's mug (called "Keferloher"). For more info click on the respective picture...
Official glasses "Oktoberfest" The Oktoberfest glass jars are also available in various sizes. The largest mug has a capacity of 1.0 liters and is called "Isarseidl". It can be recognized by the "dents" (in the jargon called "eyes") in the glass. The glass bumper is also available in 0.5 liters and as a "shot glass" (mini-glass with 4cl). Even these smaller items have the typical dents and are decorated with the new postermotif. Last but not least - the new "wheat beer glass" (Weissbierglas) is also beautiful and authentically.
